Biscayne Bay Table

Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary forms, the Biscayne Bay coffee table is a new member of the Gitane Collection. This piece was custom designed for a couple here in Denver who offered the simple parameters of a coffee table with transparent top and lower shelf for display. We proposed this simple yet elegant design which celebrates the natural beauty and structural qualities of wood. This piece is constructed entirely of solid hardwood using doweled half lap joints which we feel contrast nicely with the uniquely sculpted legs. We feel that the strength of this design is in its balance, proportion and celebration of materials.

Shown here in walnut (top row of thumbnail images) as well as poplar (bottom row of thumbnail images) the Biscayne Bay coffee table can be custom ordered in whatever wood species you prefer. The glass infill panel is tempered for strength, durability and safety.
